Food Safety Systems
At Sahlman Seafoods we are committed to raise, process and market shrimp of the highest quality, assuring strict compliance with local and global quality standards. We are proud to secure the traceability of our products.
Our plant is approved for export to the European Union, the United States, through the proper FDA (Food and Drug Administration), Mexico and Central America.
We have HACCP Certification (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) and complimentary plans since 1998. Our HACCP continuity plan includes an area under the same name that acts as a regulatory entity to assure food safety for final consumers. The HACCP department runs a monthly evaluation of results to promote continuous improvement.
At Sahlman Seafoods of Nicaragua we also have a Quality Control Department with highly capable and trained professionals that assure national and international standards are met. We are constantly audited by the government, suppliers and buyers, always receiving outstanding grades.
Locally we are regulated by different entities such as: Ministerio Agropecuario y Forestal (MAGFOR), Ministerio de Salud (MINSA) and Instituto Nicaraguense de la Pesca (INPESCA).
These tools allow us to maintain our quality standards:
Best Practices Manuals for Manufacturing and Aquaculture (BPM and BPA)
- Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP)
- HACCP Manual (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point)
- Quality Assurance procedures
